We're taking traditional BBQ techniques and incorporating innovative flavors. Our food is 100% smoked with wood, no gas assistance. Is it more work? Yes. But we believe it yields a better product and better flavor. We source quality ingredients and make most things from scratch.
We partner with local vendors whenever possible, including Vander Farmers from Sturgis, Michigan. Their family owned farm produces some of the best wagyu and we are proud to include that on our menu.
If you're thirsty, you'll love our selection of beer, wine and craft cocktails. Our cocktail menu, created by one of the nation's leading mixologists, includes something for everyone.

Meet The Team
Rick has spent more than 30 years in the restaurant industry operating venues around the country ranging from fine dining to pub fare. He has earned many acclaims during his tenure, including “Best Steakhouse in Chicago” by Chicago Magazine as executive chef of David Burke Primehouse. In 2001 Rick was invited to host his first dinner at the James Beard House and was named a “Rising Star of American Cuisine.” In 2004 and 2006 he was a USA competition finalist in the world’s premier culinary competition, the Bocuse D’Or. He was part of the opening management team of the very first Virgin Hotel worldwide where he managed all food outlets.
Rick Gresh earned his associate degree in culinary arts at the Culinary Institute of America. Whether inside or outside the kitchen, Rick has a passion for good craftsmanship. He’s a woodworker, a leather worker and enjoys restoring classic cars. He is thrilled to bring his passion for food and hospitality to Southwest Michigan.
After tackling the corporate world, Anna quickly realized that hospitality was where she wanted to be. Having grown up in Michigan, she brings 25 years of experience in the industry. She’s worn many hats including server, bartender, supervisor and general manager. Anna is not afraid of a challenge and thinks through every detail to make guests happy.
Music has been her passion since the age of 13 when she experienced her first live show. She’s traveled the world to see the biggest rock n’ roll stars in the world and has the stories, pics and a few broken bones to prove it. Anna is beyond excited to be leading the pack and bringing some big city rock n' roll vibes to Main Street Smokehouse.
We are located along the beautiful St. Joseph River in Mendon, MI. Outdoor seating on our multi-level decks, weather permitting. Parking available directly across the street. Reservations are highly encouraged.
